Retail Ramble podcast: payments landscape shifts again

Contactless payment in stores, on travel networks and within restaurants is on the rise, and as of this month so is the transaction limit for this way to pay.

On September 1, the contactless payment transaction limit increased from £20 to £30, which is arguably indicative of UK consumers' growing acceptance and trust in this payment method.

Convenience retail group Spar processed in excess of 550,000 contactless payments in July 2015 alone, and many retail businesses expect the growing use of contactless cards to pave the way for mobile, wearable and other contactless transactions.

Listen to editor of Essential Retail, Ben Sillitoe, and editor of Essential eCommerce, Caroline Baldwin, discuss how the payments landscape is changing and the strategies of individual retailers, in the third episode of the Retail Ramble podcast.
