Yodel promotes Helen Marshall to CIO

UK parcel carrier Yodel has promoted Helen Marshall from her role as IT director to CIO.

The delivery company's former director of IT services & operations, and director of technology transformation, has been an integral part of Yodel’s digital development over recent years. She will replace Adam Gerrard, who has left the business after a five-year tenure overseeing the IT function.

Marshall has a track record in implementing large-scale transformation projects within technology departments, having previously worked in the IT teams at Virgin and TalkTalk.

There has been significant development in the technology offerings of the major carriers in the UK over recent times, as consumers have demanded more transparency and tracking from retailers in terms of parcel delivery. Yodel’s offering includes Inflight, a redirection service which enables consumers to amend their delivery preference after making their order, and Xperience, which gives merchants an opportunity to self-brand the delivery process.

Mike Hancox, CEO at Yodel, said the company will continue to invest in technology.

Marshall commented: “Yodel’s tech systems played a key part in supporting our most successful peak to date – helping our delivery drivers to get parcels to customers across the country in a safe and timely fashion.

“I am looking forward to exploring new applications to help make deliveries even more seamless than ever, whilst working closely with my talented colleagues to build on our award wins and establish Yodel as the leading innovator of the logistics industry.”
