The Hut Group launches new app for Myprotein brand

Myprotein has unveiled a new retail app with multiple features aimed at supporting on-the-go shopping.

The sports nutrition and clothing retailer, which is owned by Manchester-based house of brands The Hut Group, has made the app available to customers in the UK, US, and across Europe.

The app offers 24/7 customer support via its live chat, email, and Apple Business messenger functionalities, while an in-app blog is embedded to help educate and support customers with their fitness goals, as well as inform them about the Myprotein brand and the latest nutritional studies.

In a move to drive app downloads, Myprotein allows users to sign up for push notifications that will offer them tailored discounts. Available on iOS or Android operating systems, the app includes rapid payment options Google Pay, Apple Pay, PayPal, and Visa Checkout.

Buy now, pay later provider Clearpay is also integrated into the app. It comes after The Hut Group announced, this month, that it had replaced Klarna with the Afterpay-owned business as its BNPL partner in the UK and US.

Where they exist, customer reviews have been built into the product pages, giving users access to advice and reassurance from their peers prior to purchasing items.

The app was developed in house by The Hut Group team, which has built its own THG Ingenuity technology platform that is used to power its own online brands, including Lookfantastic and Glossybox, and some third-party FMCG company websites.
