Moonpig launches Manchester Tech Hub

Moonpig is opening a new office in Manchester housing a ‘Tech Hub’ which will focus on developing a new eCommerce, data and personalisation platform for the online card retailer.

As well as the dedicated technology space at No. 1 Spinningfields, Moonpig will be creating 50 new technology jobs across both Manchester and London.

“Moonpig produces over 15 million completely one-off items for customers every year, each one uniquely personal to the sender and receiver, and powered by our ‘emotionally intelligent’ technology,” said Peter Donlon, CTO at Moonpig and MMU Alumini, who is leading the project.

“We’re seeking the best engineering talent out there to turbo-charge the Moonpig business going forward.  We selected Manchester for its thriving tech scene and wealth of exceptional talent.”

The new office will open its doors on 1 November and will be led by head of engineering, Mark Evans, who previously held engineering roles at and Sainsbury’s.
