McArthurGlen appoints Whitbread IT exec to CIO

McArthurGlen has announced the appointment of Phil Parry to the newly-created role of chief information officer (CIO).

Reporting to chief customer officer, Tom Enraght-Moony, Parry will lead technology operations and investments across the group’s portfolio of 24 designer outlets in nine countries.

Previously head of digital delivery at for Premier Inn, Costa Coffee and Whitbread’s other restaurant brands. Parry also managed the mobile app development and strategy for Home Retail Group. He also spend eight years working at Mercedes-Benz UK as project delivery leader responsible for e-commerce strategy, including web and mobile app developments.

“I am excited to be joining Tom and the McArthurGlen customer team,” said Parry. “McArthurGlen Designer Outlets offer a unique and enduring proposition to shoppers, tourists and brand partners in today’s fast-evolving retail marketplace - one which I look forward to contributing to as the Group continues to develop its customer experience and Technology function.”

Enraght-Moony added: “Phil brings 20 years’ diverse technology and transformation experience at B2B and B2C brands including Whitbread plc, Mercedes-Benz, Argos and Homebase.  As McArthurGlen continues to invest in our Technology infrastructure and team, he will be pivotal to our strategy of putting the customer at the heart of everything we do and maximising the performance of our brand partners by applying technology and data across the entire value chain.”
