RetailEXPO announces Innovation Awards shortlist 2019

RetailEXPO has announced its shortlist for the 2019 Innovation Awards.

The ten shortlisted companies will feature on the ‘Innovation Awards Wall’ at the RetailEXPO at London Olympia on 1 & 2 May, with the final winner being announced on the first day of the show.

The shortlisted companies – which solve business challenges from payments and logistics to in-store design and robotics – will also have a chance to pitch their ideas to selected group of retailers and brands who will be given a guided tour of innovations at the exhibition.

“At a time of unprecedented technological advancement and in the context of a fast-moving and challenging retail trading environment, innovation has never been as critical to the success of modern multichannel retailing,” said Matt Bradley, event director at RetailEXPO.

“Our Innovation Awards champion the ground-breaking solutions that have the power to re-energise retailers’ operations and drive business performance. A hallmark of the very best-in-breed technologies that have the power to digitally transform retailing, we congratulate all of the companies shortlisted in what was a highly competitive competition this year, and look forward to announcing the overall winner at the show in May.”

Ionut Vlad, founder of Tokinomo, the winner of the 2018 Innovation Awards, added: “We were delighted to win the Innovation Award at last year’s show – there is always so much innovation on display, making it a highly competitive award programme, so we were thrilled to come away with the win.  It is a real honour and testament to the dedication, passion and innovation that is behind the solution, which looks to drive forward in-store customer experience.”

Entries were independently judged by a panel of industry experts. This year the judging panel was made up of: Kathryn Malloch, head of customer experience, Hammerson; Ken Daley, CEO, JML; Mark McMurtrie, director, Payments Consultancy; Matthew Valentine, editor, Retail Design World and Caroline Baldwin, editor, Essential Retail.
