House of Fraser website down following payment dispute

House of Fraser has taken its website offline following customer complaints about delayed eCommerce deliveries since its sale to Sports Direct last week for £90million.

Customers visiting are presented with a maintenance page stating the retailer is “currently working hard to make some improvements to the website” and are directed to its various social media channels.

But The Times has reported that it is actually a problem with House of Fraser’s supply chain, rather than the website itself. House of Fraser’s warehouse operator XPO Logistics has temporarily stopped processing orders following a dispute over payment with retailer’s new owner.

House of Fraser stated on Twitter that it does not have a timescale for delivery.
