EAT17 continues mission to redefine convenience store sector

Convenience retailer EAT17 has opened its latest branch, in a continued effort to redefine the convenience store sector.

The 306 sq m (3,300 sq ft) store, in Smiths Square in London’s Hammersmith, has been designed by East London agency Fourmation. It opened in late August.

Situated next to a major theatre, and with an affluent local population and high footfall, the store benefits from a strong customer base until late in the evening. This, and the popularity of casual dining, led Fourmation to develop a street food market format combining three independent food sellers and an in-house coffee bar.

The store features a new colour palette and a new suite of graphics, with a cluster of corrugated metal containers and a seating area linking the dining area to the retail space.

In an effort to reduce packaging waste the store features a refill station for some food, wine and beer ranges.
