Design Showcase: Clergerie's new store format

Luxury French footwear brand Clergerie has opened two new flagship stores, on Madison Avenue in New York and Rue St Honoré in Paris.

Interiors are by Italian architecture group Vudafieri-Saverino Partners, which has been designing the brand’s stores since 2014.

A new store concept has been used for the latest stores, based on expressing the values of a traditional maison.

Clergerie can trace its roots to 1895, and makes shoes distinguished by a unique and bold design that seek to transcend passing trends trends.

Vudafieri-Saverino Partners has sought to reflect that brand history in the new stores. It has introduced both hard and soft elements to both forms and materials to create constant points of interest and change, along with contrasting colours.

The agency describes the interior as being intimate but friendly, and both modern and sophisticated.
