Cath Kidston recruits digital director from Victoria Beckham

British lifestyle brand Cath Kidston has appointed experienced eCommerce and technology leader James Wintle as its new digital director, effective from today (27 August).

Wintle has joined the business from fashion brand Victoria Beckham, where he held the chief digital and technical officer role for the last 20 months. Prior to joining the Victoria Beckham team, he spent 11 years at fashion retailer AllSaints, latterly as global director of digital and technology.

Essential Retail understands Wintle will be responsible for leading Cath Kidston’s digital strategy alongside all paid marketing activities and customer data analytics.

The new recruit, who will sit on the operating board of the brand famed for its distinctive patterned prints, has replaced Lynn Ritson, who departed her role as global eCommerce director in May to take up a global digital director position at Walgreens Boots Alliance.

Laura Bailey, Jo White, and Jo O’Keefe, Cath Kidston’s head of eCommerce, CRM manager, and digital marketing manager respectively, comprise Wintle’s team – they will report to him directly.

Cath Kidston CEO Melinda Paraie, who joined the business in 2018, commented: “I’m delighted to welcome James to this key role in the Cath Kidston team.

“His wealth of experience with businesses such as AllSaints and brands like Victoria Beckham will be invaluable as we further develop our digital strategy going forward.”

There have been several senior role changes at Cath Kidston in recent months, including the departure of commercial director Sue Carvell earlier this summer.
