Brent Cross kiosk for Tart Modern

Portuguese Natas brand, Tart Modern, has launched its second pop-up kiosk, in Brent Cross shopping centre in North London. The brand specialises in the famous Portuguese Custard Tarts, and was launched in 2019 with plans to expand quickly.

Retail and VM specialist agency Lucky Fox was commissioned to design and build an impactful but compact kiosk for the project. To minimise disruption the kiosk was installed in just one overnight session.

The design brief called for a cost-effective but high-quality pop-up model which can be scaleable as the brand expands to other high footfall locations. The kiosk also needed to make a strong visual impact to help it stand out in busy locations, and to let it communicate the brand offer instantly.

Working with a small footprint space of just 3m X 3m, Lucky Fox devised a modular format pop-up kiosk, which cleverly maximises available space whilst retaining a modern and clutter free appearance. Despite its compact proportions, the kiosk is able to accommodate up to three members of staff, along with refrigeration, baking and serving areas. It also features a lockable storage area.

Large displays of Natas help to attract customers, while an exterior shelf is provided for customers who wish to pause and enjoy their purchases.

Keeping the scheme bright and vibrant was important for Tart Modern, so Lucky Fox focused on the brand’s bold yellow and black brand palette. Strip neon tracking on frames gives the kiosk added impact and highlights the brand’s logo.

Tart Modern is currently expanding, and plans to open further kiosk branches.
