Australian restaurant Butcher and the Farmer heading for London

Australian dining brand Butcher and the Farmer is to open a branch at The O2 in London, representing its first outlet outside Australia.

Butcher and the Farmer is a farm-to-table concept, based on sharing dishes. It was launched in New South Wales by Steve Flood and Will Stewart, who were the 2015 winners of Australian TV show My Kitchen Rules.

The O2 branch will be a 650 sq m (6,996 sq ft) unit providing 266 covers. It is scheduled to open in September 2019. Design is Callie van Der Merwe of The Design Partnership in Sydney.

“The O2 stood out to us as the ideal platform to launch our brand overseas, with our restaurant positioned alongside ICON Outlet, and an extremely high volume of visitors from all across the globe. For our first restaurant in Europe, we wanted a popular location with huge potential and the developing area of North Greenwich in one of the most well-visited capitals in Europe, ticked the box for us.”
