American Apparel goes global online

American Apparel has relaunched its online presence with a new digital store, offering a more inclusive range of sizes and fits.

Now owned and operated by Gildan, American Apparel has been able to relaunch its online brand, beginning with a new US website last year and now an international website which is available in more than 200 countries around the world.

Back in 2016, American Apparel was forced to shutter its 13 UK stores after falling into administration. But the new global website will bring the American Apparel brand back to its UK fans.

“We have deep love for our global customers, who really love and get the brand’s sense of humour and irreverent nature,” said Sabina Weber, director of marketing at American Apparel. “They also know the quality and the timeless, effortless styles that we offer and they miss having those pieces in their closets.”

The brand, which promotes its commitment to being ethically-made and sweatshop free, is now able to offer styles at more affordable prices, and with a ‘Back To Basics’ launch campaign, featuring a line-up of everyday male and female models aged 21-plus, who have all been cast via American Apparel’s social media channels.

RBTE takes place at London’s Olympia, 2-3 May 2018.
