Yoox dabbles in augmented reality

Yoox has partnered with Lumyer to introduce augmented reality filters for its customers.

The Italian designer marketplace has deployed technology on a mobile app which converts its products into filters which customers can overlay on images of themselves to virtually try on handbags, sunglasses and jewellery, in a similar way to Snapchat. These images can then be shared on social media or purchased from Yoox directly through the app.

Yoox claims to be the first retailer to develop an exclusive set of filters, available to its 16 million iOS and Android shoppers.
