Singapore retail tech showcase at RBTE

In Asia, Singapore is a hotbed of innovation for the eCommerce and the retail technology sector. Singapore’s excellent ICT and logistics infrastructure, coupled with a diverse and sophisticated pool of consumers makes it an obvious hub for eCommerce.

Given the proximity to and familiarity with Asia, especially Southeast Asia, many Singapore companies, including those in the retail technology sector have built a strong foothold in this region. Not only do they offer access to the huge population base in Asia, they have the ability to customise their technology and solutions to meet the needs of this fragmented market. Many of the Singapore eCommerce solutions companies are tech solution providers serving global and regional brands like HDFC bank in India, Club 21 in Southeast Asia and Ascott in Europe.

This year, Singapore is participating at RBTE for the first time. The Singapore Pavilion will feature seven Singapore eCommerce solutions companies with a competitive advantage in servicing Southeast Asia. From fraud prevention to ePayments, these companies offer a wide range of solutions that enhance customer and retailer operations, relevant for both online and offline retail channels.

Key themes that are relevant to the fast-changing retail technology sector such as cyber security and consumer experience. For example, CashShield’s award-winning transaction fraud detection service analyses real-time customer purchase behaviour to determine whether a fraudulent transaction is taking place. MDAQ’s proprietary system that allows the best possible currency conversion rates for the consumer, static or dynamic lock-in FX rates to protect merchants against FX risk. Tourego offers a seamless tax refund solution, as well as a mobile app solution that helps tourists and retailers store, submit and process their receipts and tax refund tickets electronically, eliminating onerous paperwork.

Leading global brands seeking innovative solutions and looking to penetrate the Asia or Southeast Asia eCommerce market can connect to these Singapore companies at the Singapore Pavilion to explore partnerships.
