Virgin Wines introduces free delivery for loyal customers

Virgin Wines has introduced free next-day delivery for all of its WineBank customers.

The online wine retailer is offering the free delivery service as standard for customers who take part in its monthly saving loyalty scheme. Virgin Wines said the free delivery will help it increase its WineBank members from 60,000 to 100,000 over the next financial year.

Jay Wright, CEO of Virgin Wines said: "Our WineBank scheme is already the best way wine enthusiasts can purchase wine in the UK but we are always trying to improve everything we do and free next day delivery with no strings attached is the one thing our customers tell us they want most. Our WineBank customers are incredibly loyal so this allows us to implement this benefit without affecting prices or the existing WineBank benefit."

The WineBank loyalty scheme has doubled in the last 12 months, increasing from 30,000 in June 2015. The scheme allows customers to save money into an online account, receiving 20% interest to spend online at Virgin Wines, which represents 5.6% of the online wine market in the UK.

Wright added: "We are determined to give our customers the very best service and value we can and unlimited free next day delivery will help us stand out from the crowd even further and gives customers a very real and tangible benefit."

Virgin Wines is redeveloping its website this year to include personalised recommendations and the ability to quickly reorder favourite wines. Next on the agenda is to create a mobile app which will allow customers to easily rate their bottles.
