Tesla unveils experiential store at Touchwood

Electric vehicle brand, Tesla, is demonstrating its cars' innovative technology via a new 'experience' store at Touchwood shopping centre in Solihull, West Midlands.

In addition to showcasing two of its vehicles, including the new electric Model S saloon car, Tesla has placed four touchscreen TVs across the store, which are designed as a tool to help customers learn more about the product and design, and register for a test drive.

Tesla acquired a double height façade for its shop front at Touchwood, and the distinctive entrance features the Tesla name on fixed light box signage, below an image of one of its cars.

The 5,187 sq ft store is located alongside Apple and Hollister and opposite the newly upsized Next store, at Lendlease-owned Touchwood. The shop features the Model S rolling chassis, showing off the company's technology, while a Model S design studio and Tesla merchandise are also on site.

Guy Thomas, head of retail asset management at Lendlease, commented: "Tesla is a fantastic addition to Touchwood's experience-led offer and reflects our approach of ensuring that we continue to provide an exciting retail line-up."

Tesla has 14 stores in the UK, including one at London's Oxford Street, one in Kent's Bluewater shopping centre and two in Manchester.
