The eight new PayPal Here SDK partners in focus

PayPal has revealed the first partners to adopt its PayPal Here software development kit (SDK) in the UK, with the payments company saying it is fostering partnerships to help businesses trade in store and on the go using smartphones and tablets as their point-of-sale (PoS).

Launched in 2013, PayPal Here is designed to allow partners and developers to integrate Chip & PIN and contactless card payments seamlessly into their iOS and Android apps.

PayPal's new partners add features such as inventory management, CRM, invoicing, scheduling, reporting, and the ability to provide a more personalised customer experience.

The PayPal Here technology partners:

AirPOS creates software for small to medium-sized retailers selling across single and multiple points of sale, offering real-time access to inventory and financial data. AirPOS's iOS and Android apps use PayPal Here to accept card and contactless payments.

Autocab, the cloud-based taxi booking and dispatch systems provider, has integrated the PayPal Here SDK into its app so drivers can offer secure electronic payments right in the vehicle and capitalise on the growth in non-cash transactions in the industry.

BookingBug provides businesses with an end-to-end booking solution for real-time management of appointments, communications and resources. With PayPal Here added into the system, retailers can accept payments in-person and online.

Vexilor, the cloud-based PoS powered by Givex’s platform for customer engagement and operational efficiency, is integrated with PayPal Here to accept card payments through its proprietary 10-inch and 7-inch tablets.

HikePOS's multichannel software provides inventory, loyalty, retail reports, and now in-store and online payments powered by the PayPal Here SDK. The cloud-based PoS has an iPad register app and also works offline.

Ovatu is a full PoS solution for managing appointment and retail products, aimed at dental practices, hair and beauty salons, and health and fitness studios. Ovatu is fully-integrated with PayPal Here to accept all payments.

Powered Now is built for service businesses, such as builders, gas engineers, plumbers, electricians and other tradesmen, allowing these professionals to invoice, quote and schedule from a mobile or tablet. Now, they can get paid immediately via PayPal Here.

Vend's Register for iPad pairs with the PayPal Here contactless card reader, allowing retailers to get out from behind the counter and make a sale from anywhere. The tie-up is supported by inventory management and reporting tools, as well as customer loyalty solutions.

Cameron McLean, managing director for PayPal UK, commented: "At PayPal, we're always working to build better experiences that take the pain out of payments.

"For developers, integrating payments into their app can be complex and one of the last things they want to worry about. The PayPal Here SDK means we simply handle the payments work for you."

He added: "By collaborating with the industry leaders in PoS software, we are able to offer businesses of all sizes and in any sector a complete solution to ensure they never miss a sale."

PayPal's integrated solutions with AirPOS, Givex and Vend were showcased at this year's RBTE, which took place at Olympia in London on 9-10 March.
