In pictures: Dune's global digital signage makeover

Dune Group has been undergoing an in-store refresh in recent months, with shop refurbishments in the UK, US and Switzerland all incorporating digital signage as part of a new customer engagement strategy.

For Dune's new flagship store on London's Oxford Street, the merchandising team opted to move away from the traditional point of purchase signage and graphic lightboxes, as well as single landscape TVs, towards the deployment of video walls.

The flagship store includes 18 LG 47-inch portrait displays, Datapath controllers, a BrightSign XD1230 media player and Peerless-AV video wall mounts.

JA Dune spokesperson said: "Video is far more engaging and striking than the usual shop signage options."

Since this initial installation, Project Audio Visual has supplied video walls for additional Dune outlets in London's Oxford Street, Argyll Street and Oxford Street House of Fraser, as well as Brent Cross and Bluewater shopping centres.

Stores elsewhere in the UK, including in Birmingham, Sheffield, Newcastle, Stansted Airport, Manchester Airport, Dublin and Belfast have also been fitted with the digital signage.

As Dune continues its international expansion drive, refits at the store in Basel, Switzerland and in New York have also included the implementation of the digital screens.

Before and after footfall measurements conducted by the Sheffield store reportedly revealed a significant upturn, with the Dune spokesperson saying: "It looks fantastic and really makes a striking impression on the customers when they enter the shop.

"What's more, it will pay for itself in a year or two with the savings we will make on printing graphic panels and light-box vinyls."
