RBTE prepares to welcome European retail industry

RBTE 2016 will host some of Europe's largest retailers and technology companies later this week, as the free-to-attend conference and expo runs from 9-10 March at London's Olympia.

Over 16,000 visitors are expected to head through the exhibition centre's doors during the course of the two days, to experience the top-level conference programme and the 350+ technology solution providers which have secured exhibition stands at the sold-out venue.

There are conference streams dedicated to retail technology, eCommerce and payments, with notable sessions on day one including presentations from John Lewis's head of omnichannel customer ordering, Mark Lewis, and Hammerson's head of multichannel, Sophie Ross. Show visitors will also be able to hear from Sainsbury's director of online, Robbie Feather, and Screwfix CEO, Andrew Livingston.

Day two includes speakers such as All Saints CEO, William Kim, Asda's SVP of people & stores, Hayley Tatum, and senior representatives from Visa, the Bank of England and Barclaycard to name just a few. Click here to see the full speaker list.

Vendors exhibiting on the show floor include Oracle, Samsung, JDA Software, Manhattan Associates, Fujitsu, Lexmark, Toshiba, Wincor Nixdorf and many more businesses offering the latest technology solutions in payments, mobile, eCommerce, marketing, supply chain, loss prevention and store operations. The 2015 event – sitting side by side with Retail Design Expo for the first time – attracted over 12,000 attendees, but visitor numbers are expected to grow in 2016, especially as the organiser, Legend Exhibitions, has added the eCommerce Quarter and Retail Digital Signage Expo, among other new features.

Retailers attending the event also have exclusive use of the K3 Retailer Lounge, while they can also make use of the PayPal Chill & Charge Lounge and pre-register to head to one of nine retail bootcamps running on both days of the show covering the key aspects of modern retailing. The In-Store Customer RFID Experience will also provide visitors with information about how RFID can benefit all areas of a retail operation.

Following a day of networking, business meetings and shopping for new solutions on Wednesday 9 March, retailers and tech vendors alike can unwind at the Big Party, hosted by DILAX, and held on the Dell Champagne Bar located within the exhibitor floorplan. The party is open to all visitors and starts at 16:45 on day one.

Essential Retail will be covering news from the conference throughout the week. If you are exhibiting at the expo, please contact editor, ben@essentialretail.com, or deputy editor, caroline@essentialretail.com, to let them know about the solutions, services and technology you are offering the European retail industry.
