RBTE 2016 Exhibitor Spotlight: Spectralink

Communications solutions company Spectralink is returning to RBTE, and it will be showcasing its range of products at the two-day event at London Olympia between 9-10 March 2016.

Essential Retail caught up with Craig Barrass, channel manager at Spectralink, to find out more about the company and its plans for the spring show.

Why have you booked for RBTE 2016?

Spectralink is a technology leader in mobile enterprise Unified Communications (UC) for retail and hospitality, as these are markets where UC and collaboration of voice and data are converging to deliver a return for the customer, and also the retailer.

Improving the communications and staff availability through a store and across many stores is a compelling feature of UC deployments which already deliver major cost benefits to traditional stores with on-premise equipment. Moving to a virtual or hosted voice solution and deploying Wi-Fi for voice and data connectivity within stores is a growing trend. The drivers are many and deliver on several levels of benefits which enhance and provide a competitive edge to the retailer and its staff. Spectralink’s solutions are gaining momentum as large retailers are increasingly deploying new technologies such as Skype for Business and hosted platforms such as Cisco.

What new technology will you be displaying at RBTE 2016, and why is it relevant?

Spectralink will be displaying the WorkSmart device PIVOT:S, which embodies many attributes of a consumer smartphone but is built for the enterprise market, providing integrated and complete UC benefits along with an open platform for third-party applications. Spectralink will be demonstrating how this single mobile device converges all the benefits of multiple devices such as pagers, radios, and phones, to provide personal safety and instant alerts for staff who may need support with customers requiring service on the shop floor. The Pivot:S is a unique solution which bridges a gap of Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) and Enterprise mobility, to offer a lower cost of ownership and increased manageability.

Name some of the retailers that you are currently working alongside?

Spectralink works with a number of large retail clients who have deployed Spectralink solutions. Our customers value our best of breed approach as we integrate seamlessly with many third-party applications to deliver significant benefits. We do not limit our customers to a single application and therefore the Pivot:S has Google Play App Store certification, providing the ability to choose from the hundreds of thousands applications which might make all the difference.

Visitors to RBTE 2016 can meet with Spectralink at Stand 852.
