NRF 2016: Swarovski reduces staff turnover with Kronos

Jewellery retailer and manufacturer Swarovski has highlighted the multiple benefits of investing in new workforce management technology and systems.

Using solutions from Kronos, the business says it has significantly reduced turnover by improving employee engagement and increasing store productivity.

Discussing its work with Kronos in a session at US retail industry trade association NRF's Big Show, in New York earlier this week, Swarovski said it is now able to more accurately match staff schedules to consumer demand while providing associates with added flexibility in how they do their jobs and manage their work hours. In its UK business, for example, the retailer has reduced staff turnover by nearly 25%, which it believes is a fundamental reason for recent sales success.

The retailer said that previous policies and procedures lacked "clear definition and consistent application" regarding how many hours an employee should work in a day, as well as the number of breaks they should have and what overtime they qualify for.

Kronos's Workforce Central suite of workforce management solutions has been used by Swarovski in locations across Europe and the US.
