RBTE 2016 Exhibitor Spotlight: APG Cash Drawer

Cash drawer and point of sale (PoS) solutions manufacturer APG Cash Drawer is returning to RBTE, and it will be showcasing its range of products at the two-day event at London Olympia between 9-10 March 2016.

Essential Retail caught up with Stephen Bergeron, VP of global marketing at APG Cash Drawer, to find out more about the company and its plans for the spring show.

Why have you booked for RBTE 2016?

The quality and quantity of visitors from across the globe keeps improving, so RBTE continues to be a great show for us, providing significant opportunities to connect with leading companies in the retail industry. Our whole team enjoyed the show immensely and we cannot wait to return

What new technology will you be displaying at RBTE 2016, and why is it relevant?

Retail PoS is changing, and as with any change new questions emerge. The introduction of tablet/handheld or Mobile PoS is giving the consumer the freedom to shop and pay when, where and how they wish.

APG's Stratis Integration System is designed for retailers who are installing mobile and/or thin tablet point of sale applications and wish to have a stylish, uncluttered and contemporary look at the PoS.

The BluePRO™ device enables communication between a mobile device and a cash drawer. Our mobile solutions also eliminate the need for a PoS printer, simplify the checkout and email receipts to a customer.

With the merger of Cash Bases based in Newhaven, East Sussex, UK, APG and Cash Bases together will present SMARTtill technology, which is an automated cash management solution at PoS. The automated system combines an intelligent cash drawer with a database that records and reconciles each transaction. The database synchronises to the PoS system and store management with each and every cash transaction. The system not only records a cashier's every interaction with the cash drawer, it also increases productivity by eliminating manual counting, easier changing of cashier shift, and reconciliation.

Name some of the retailers that you are currently working alongside?

HomeDepot, Walmart, LegoLand, Lowe’s.

What's the best customer service you've experienced this year?

Target has consistently delivers good customer service at their PoS. The store team leader monitors customers at checkout closely. As a customer, I have experienced that the store team leader calls in casher to open a new checkout line when other checkout points are busy.
