RBTE 2016 Exhibitor Spotlight: iVend Retail

Retail technology solutions company iVend Retail is returning to RBTE, and it will be showcasing its range of products at the two-day event at London Olympia between 9-10 March 2016.

Essential Retail caught up with Richard Kolodynski, senior vice president at iVend Retail, to find out more about the company and its plans for the spring show.

Why have you booked for RBTE 2016?

RBTE represents a very important moment in time for us; we launched iVend Retail’s European presence at last year’s show in 2015. As Europe’s leading retail event, RBTE felt like a fitting launchpad to introduce iVend’s integrated retail suite to the market - and we certainly weren’t disappointed with the ‘buzz’ the show delivered both in terms of interest and engagement.

Last year the show was a great platform for building brand awareness for iVend Retail and the quality of attendees, both in terms of their job roles and the scale of the retailers at the show, was second to none. This has been a big influence in our decision to rebook for next year, with a bigger and better presence. Not only will we have a prominent stand, we’ll also be leading two bootcamps which address how retailers can better integrate the store into their omnichannel strategies. iVend Retail will also be hosting a number of iVend Partner ‘Pods’ on the stand, enabling visitors to view a range of innovative solutions to suit specific retailing needs and aspirations.

What new technology will you be displaying at RBTE 2016, and why is it relevant?

We will be showcasing our end-to-end integrated omnichannel retail solution, with a focus around the customer experience  and delivery of a single pool of stock which will enable retailers real-time visibility of product availability across their channels and across the store estate – a vital capability for retailers seeking growth.

We will also be demonstrating our mobile loyalty functions, including digital passes. Our recent research shows 25% of customers would like to get loyalty points on their mobile either through an app or being sent direct to their phones. Today’s omnichannel consumers are promiscuous by nature, so now more than ever loyalty schemes must be relevant to them while at the same time adding value for the retailer, not simply eroding margin, but providing valuable data that can be used to make better business and customer engagement decisions.

As a practical application of how our digital passes work, delegates at RBTE will be able to download a special digital pass direct to their mobile for our iVend Retail Loyalty Bar. The iVend Retail Loyalty Bar will be hosting a ‘happy hour’ on the stand between 2pm and 3pm each day and those redeeming their iVend Retail Loyalty Bar pass will be able to claim a complimentary glass of fizz or a beer – the perfect moment for resting show-sore feet and relaxing a little.

Name some of the retailers that you are currently working alongside?

iVend Retail and TRC (iVend Retail Partner), with our mutual customer Abbey Road Studios, will be speaking at the show about the launch of Abbey’s retail store, looking at the opportunities provided by an omnichannel solution to underpin customer experiences to generate conversions and with a single view of stock, improve profitability.

iVend delivers integrated, omnichannel retail management solutions for the way retailers work today, implementing technology that is built to enable change, not just built to last.

We believe that retailers shouldn’t have to worry about managing hardware, software licenses, upgrades – they just need the tools to deliver great customer service.

Part of Citixsys worldwide, iVend stands for innovation in retail technology and leadership in cloud management and mobile retail. In addition to providing traditional fixed till and back office server solutions as required, we are experts in developing solutions for complex retail – multi-format, multi-location, multichannel and multi-sector retailers.

What's the best customer service you've experienced this year?

As a frequent flyer, the BA lounge at Heathrow is top notch - an oasis of calm and relative tranquillity with unobtrusive high quality service - although its loyalty scheme leaves much to be desired.
