Demandware powers Hotel Chocolat's personalised hamper service

Hotel Chocolat is using Demandware's unified digital commerce platform to grow its business digitally.

With its implementation partner, LyonsCG, Hotel Chocolat's transactional websites are now fully responsive for mobile and tablet devices, while the retailer has also introduced digital online features, including a service to design chocolate hampers.

"We want our customers to be able to shop anywhere and at any time," explained Melissa Shackleton, head of commercial at Hotel Chocolat. "We started as a pure online business and have a strong heritage in mail marketing so know that an interaction offline can prompt a transaction online. As a result, making mobile and tablets work more effectively with Demandware Commerce Cloud, will be a huge benefit and provide a massive growth opportunity for Hotel Chocolat."

The chocolate gift retailer launched in 1987 and is now expanding its business internationally – having opened stores in Copenhagen in 2014. Both the English and Danish eCommerce sites will move onto Demandware's platform which will enable Hotel Chocolat to efficiently introduce new local websites as it grows into new markets.
