Ex-Asos IT director Marsden takes House of Fraser CIO role

Uday Kotla has left his role as CIO of House of Fraser, having only joined the company in April this year.

The department store chain confirmed Kotla stepped down at the end of last week to pursue other career opportunities, adding that his departure is based on a mutual decision.

Former CIO of online fashion house Asos, Peter Marsden, has been appointed interim CIO with immediate effect and he will report to CEO Nigel Oddy, and will work alongside chief customer officer Andy Harding.

A House of Fraser spokesperson told Essential Retail: "We wish Uday every success in the future and the very best of luck."

On his appointment in the spring, Kotla was given responsibility for the continued development of technology-led solutions across the House of Fraser business and the integration of business needs with IT strategy and delivery.

Prior to joining the department store chain he was global head of technology consulting at Infosys Digital, and he has over 20 years of experience in digital enterprise platforms which includes work with the likes of Walmart, Adidas and Tesco.

Marsden left Asos last September, following a two-year spell at the fashion retailer.
