Lyle & Scott Carnaby Street store introduces beacon technology

Lyle & Scott has followed in the footsteps of Ted Baker and added Iconeme's beacon technology to the mannequins at one of its flagship stores in London.

The men's fashion retailer has introduced the technology in its Carnaby Street store, providing a new way of engaging with customers on their mobile devices. After downloading the Iconeme app and turning on Bluetooth users can receive messages and rich product information about the products on display.

It comes after Ted Baker launched the same technology in its Westfield White City shop in London, earlier this year.

At Lyle & Scott, the Iconome beacons are linked to mannequins within the window display – currently set up for a Lyle & Scott Junior collection – which allows passers-by to access the technology 24 hours a day and even when the store is closed.

As a way of promoting use of the beacons and increasing the number of app downloads, Lyle & Scott has offered customers 20% off in-store purchases upon presentation of the Iconeme app.
