Retail technology specialist Red Ant is sponsoring the Retailer Lounge at RBTE, and will also be showcasing connected retail experiences for customers and staff across mobile, tablet, kiosk, wearables and in-store displays at the two-day event at London Olympia between 10-11 March 2015.

Essential Retail caught up with CEO Dan Mortimer to find out more about the company and its plans for the show.

Why have you booked for RBTE 2015?

RBTE has a solid reputation as the industry event everyone wants to attend – all the latest innovations, leading-edge developments and some of the biggest movers and shakers in retail will be there. As we're dedicated to using technology to shape the future of retail, it's the perfect opportunity to showcase what we can do when it comes to providing a connected retail experience.

What new technology will you be displaying at RBTE 2015, and why is it relevant?

These days, customers are clearly in charge of the shopping process. Thanks to smartphones, tablets and, increasingly, wearables, they have the power in their pockets to research, review and make purchases whenever and wherever they want – sometimes when they're out and about, often while they are actually in-store. What we do is offer retailers the opportunity to use this mobile technology to connect with customers at every touch-point, to deliver a seamless, satisfying shopping experience. Building on this platform, our commerce, loyalty and knowledge applications are designed to:

Our platform integrates effortlessly with existing technology providers and back-end infrastructure – we'll be demonstrating just how straightforward it is to offer a fully-connected, enhanced customer experience to drive engagement and loyalty.

Name some of the retailers that you are currently working alongside?

We have partnered with some of the biggest household names in retail, including the Arcadia Group, Thomas Pink, Sofaworks and Jack Wills, and we're currently working with a number of major retailers on market-leading initiatives which will change the way in-store selling works. Our strategic partners include IBM, Samsung, and Hybris, and we are currently the only company in Europe using the unique capabilities of IBM Watson to develop next-generation retail apps.

Which types of retailer and which job functions are you hoping to meet with at RBTE 2015, and why?

We're interested in meeting smart retailers who know that connected customer journeys are the future of retail and who want to see the technology in action – retailers who are ready to make a difference to their staff, their customers and their sales figures.

Visitors to RBTE 2015 can meet with Red Ant at Stand 222.
