Schuh steps up affiliate marketing strategy

Fashion footwear retailer Schuh has consolidated its performance marketing programme from Rakuten Linkshare, and has partnered exclusively with Affiliate Window.

The UK business, which has been under the ownership of North American conglomerate Genesco since 2011, is looking to ramp up its affiliate marketing as part of a wider eCommerce growth strategy in the coming months.

Affiliate Window can offer Schuh a number of services, including cross-device tracking and dedicated account management. Recent statistics from the vendor show that 30% of sales start on one device yet finish on another, and Schuh is one of a number of retailers to recently roll out a fully responsive website redesign to ensure its customers receive the same user experience regardless of what device they are using.

Ross Bowers, affiliate manager for Schuh, commented: "We really value our relationship with our third party partners.

"We have always seen great results with our relationship with Affiliate Window and we couldn't be more thrilled to be entering an exclusive partnership."

Last week saw Schuh report full-year results for the 12 months to 1 February 2014, with profit down and sales dipping slightly to £230 million. The company recently invested in a new £10 million distribution centre and it opened 17 stores during the course of the last financial year.

It now operates from 109 outlets in the UK and Ireland, with further additions in its home territory and internationally scheduled for the coming period.
