RBTE 2014: Cybertill back with a bang!

What makes your business stand out from the crowd?

Innovation. Cybertill was the world’s first multichannel cloud-based retail system, way back in 2001. We introduced mobile PoS to the market back in 2008. We are now in the process of adding cloud based supply chain modules to our existing multichannel system, so retailers will have a true end-to-end cloud solution.

What can we expect to see on your stand at RBTE 2014?

Cybertill will be showcasing its new enterprise level solutions at RBTE that will provide a true end to end cloud solution for multichannel retailers. The new modules include merchandising, warehousing and loss prevention. These are due for completion by Q3 this year, and we will be showcasing their functionality and design at RBTE.

These will complement our existing portfolio of cloud solutions including: EPoS, eCommerce, mail order, loyalty and promotions and head office modules.

What core benefits to retailers do your solutions bring?

Firstly Cybertill is cloud based. So retailers get real time data and they are able to seamlessly manage their stock, sales and orders across their stores, web, mail order and warehouses. From this they can make more informed decisions and their operations leaner and more competitive as they get the right products to the right locations.

Soon retailers will be able to integrate this capability with their supply chain, when the merchandising and warehousing modules are complete. So retailers can optimise the supply chain in terms of production and logistics and forward ordering and have a ‘production to retail’ solution.

How does your offering fit in with the requirements of today's multichannel retail business?

To survive and thrive in this multichannel age retailers need to have a real time, single view of customers, stock and orders. As ultimately the channel is for the customer to decide. And that is what Cybertill’s integrated EPoS, ecommerce and mail order applications deliver: live data across all their sales channels from every location enabling key services such as click & collect.

Retailers are able to be more dynamic with Cybertill’s cloud based multi-channel retail system. They can respond to sales and market conditions as they happen. For example they are able to set promotions live across a few selected stores, or across a region or universally and online all in real time and all in response to real time data.

What reasons were behind your decision to exhibit at RBTE 2014?

It’s a great platform to meet the movers and shakers in the retail industry and showcase your solutions to them. It is also offers a thought leadership platform which is invaluable through its seminars and round tables. And it is a great networking opportunity.

Who are your key customers?

We work with a wide array of retailers across multiple sectors, supplying EPoS, ecommerce and mail order solutions (and soon warehousing, merchandising and loss prevention). Well known accounts include Virgin Media, Neal’s Yard Remedies, Direct Golf, Imperial War Museum, Floors 2 Go, Wembley and The FA to name but a few.

Sum up your understanding of the key challenges currently facing the retail community?

There are two challenges. The first is integrating sales channels, so they can operate seamlessly as one, but many are on the way to achieving that. The next issue is big data. The ability to aggregate and mine the data for the real nuggets of information that will help move the business forward, such as: trend spotting, waste eradication and highlighting your most influential customers.

What does the 'store of the future; look like with the continuing growth of online and omnichannel?

Stores will become the integrated hub, as areas will be dedicated to click and collect and returns and how customers use and interact with stores will also evolve.

So the store format will be geared around the customer and their retail experience. And it will become mobile. Staff will be ‘armed’ with mobile PoS* deployed on tablets, and mobile kiosks acting as information portals for customers, where they can browse stock, product information and videos and so forth. It will be important each touch point has the ability recognise a customer and their preferences and track their visit.

Metrics for store performance will also evolve, for example new performance indicators that highlight how each sales channel can influence another will be critical in evaluating their performance. For example incidental purchases made in-store by web visitors (i.e. those who are simply collecting or returning items in-store) will become a more important.

Cybertill is exhibiting on stand 616 at RBTE 2014.
