RBTE 2014: Datalogic back with a bang!

What makes your business stand out from the crowd?

Few companies can rival Datalogic when it comes to IT innovation for retailers. 40 years ago, we made the world's first retail PoS barcode scanner and today we are still pioneering retail systems, speeding checkout throughput and streamlining back-end systems.

What can we expect to see on your stand at RBTE 2014?

The very latest developments in Retail PoS scanning, incorporating 2D barcodes for loyalty, coupons and reward programmes. As well as our unique, fully-automated 360 degree check out scanner, and the latest self-scanning/scan as you shop technology.

What core benefits to retailers do your solutions bring?

Datalogic's technology provides speed, accuracy and complete visibility, throughout the entire retail supply chain. We also offer solutions targeted at direct 'push and pull marketing', increasing the basket sizes as well as assisted sales, ensuring customer interest is converted into sales.

How does your offering fit in with the requirements of today's multichannel retail business?

Whether the retailer is a purely online or both a clicks and mortar operation, the need to track goods accurately, have clear inventory and a quick re-ordering system is paramount to business success. Datalogic's technology has enabled and improved these systems for over 40 years.

What reasons were behind your decision to exhibit at RBTE 2014?

Datalogic has been to every RBTE show since its inception, it's the only UK show wherein all the latest retail IT solutions are in one place, so for us, it’s become the main event for our customers and business partners… For Datalogic, not attending is not an option.

Who are your key customers?

Datalogic is already established suppliers to the world's top ten largest retailers by store volume. However, our technology is also essential to smaller retailers and e-tailers, hence, we have a very broad and long list of worldwide retail customers.

Sum up your understanding of the key challenges currently facing the retail community?

Cost, stock visibility, and how to join up mobile retailing with brick and mortar stores.

What does the store of the future look like with the continuing growth of online and omnichannel?

Less traditional PoS points and those will be more customer mobile device focused or accepting. Greater consideration given to capturing mobile transactions in store and the importance of collections in or out of stores.
