NFC mobile commerce firm Proxama teams up with Isis

A new mobile wallet application is on the cards following the announcement that NFC mobile wallet and NFC mobile engagement technology provider Proxama is working with mobile joint venture (JV) Isis.

Isis, which was created by AT&T Mobility, T-Mobile USA and Verizon Wireless, will collaborate with Proxama to develop the Isis Mobile Wallet application for NFC-enabled devices, using the BlackBerry 10 operating system platform.

Miles Quitmann, managing director of Proxama, said: "The roll-out of Isis is a significant step forward for NFC as a mainstream consumer technology.

"We are delighted to be working with Isis on this very exciting venture. Proxama has built up an enviable position in the mobile wallet space. The North American market is a really important one for us."

Last month, Proxama launched a campaign with media company CBS Outdoor UK at Westfield shopping centre in London to showcase NFC capability.

The campaign enables shoppers to tap and enjoy content from Rizzle Kicks and competition prizes, simply by tapping their NFC enabled smartphone against CBS Outdoor digital pods at the shopping centre.
