Tradedoubler in unique partnership with Apple's Passbook

Performance marketing and tech firm Tradedoubler has announced a new partnership with Apple's mobile wallet technology Passbook which will see its clients offered a fresh marketing solution.

In association with select affiliates such as, Tradedoubler is integrating the mobile wallet into performance marketing programmes for four of its major advertisers, TescoThe Body ShopSeatwave and eFlorist. The move will allow these companies to follow-up the initial delivery of a voucher, coupon or special ticket even after consumers have left the original affiliate channel on their iPhone or iPad.

Opening up the communication channels with customers, Tradedoubler says that retail partners will be able to send tactical push messages to remind customers that vouchers are about to expire. They will also have the capacity to combine this with geo-targeting that might drive them in-store.

Passbook allows consumers to store all of their digital tickets, boarding passes, store cards and coupons in one app. The new link-up with Tradedoubler is expected to make it easy to complete a purchase via mobile, meaning the purchase journey can be accurately tracked and the affiliate rewarded.

Neil Ranatunga, head of mobile UK at Tradedoubler, called the initiative "an exciting and unique proposition for our clients and a first in the performance marketing world".

"We now have the ability to help improve conversion, even after the customer has left an affiliate website," he added.

"By driving more sales for our clients and more commission for our affiliates from the same level of traffic, we believe that Tradedoubler's Passbook solution opens the door to a brand new way of improving brands' voucher code performance."
