Eleanor Dallaway is publisher of Essential Retail, and as a result of her eight years in the job, knows more about information security than most English Literature graduates should. She spends her working days interviewing industry professionals, keeping the website updated with news on an hourly basis, editing the magazine, and attending industry events. Day job aside, Eleanor crams her diary full socialising with friends and family. Any small gaps in her social life are reserved for a good book and an even better glass of wine

Caroline Baldwin is the editor of Essential Retail and thanks to her skills as an expert shopper combined with her eight years writing about technology, she is at the forefront of retail technology trends. This journalism post-graduate spends her days interviewing retailers who are deploying cutting-edge tech such as virtual reality and voice. She also ensures the team is on the pulse with breaking retail technology news, while analysing its impact on the industry more widely. In her spare time, Caroline is a passionate foodie, who enjoys an ice-cold G&T. If she’s not eating or drinking, she can be found watching a West End show. 

James Coker

James Coker is a reporter for Essential Retail, joining the team after several years writing about the healthcare industry following his MA in journalism. He covers breaking news and the latest trends in the retail industry, whilst also analysing their potential long-term impact. Away from work James is a keen runner and football fan, and holds a season ticket at West Ham, who he hopes will one day see win a trophy (of any sort!). He also loves a trip to a traditional pub with friends.

Rebecca Harper is the publishing director for the technologies division. For more than 10 years she has successfully developed and implemented a wide variety of online and digital campaigns and is a firm believer in the combination of creativity, technology and collaboration being the cornerstones of success (it's not as corny as it sounds, we promise!) When she's not obsessing about all things digital or advising her long-suffering friends and family about the virtues of online safety, Rebecca can be found with a good book in one hand and G&T in the other. Oh, and live music? She's your go-to gig companion.

Karina Gomez

Karina Gomez is digital marketing manager for Essential Retail. Karina is an experienced and enthusiastic digital marketing professional, with a passion for quality industry content and an advocate for great customer service.

In her personal time you'll find Karina discussing urban gardening tips, cutest pets and science fiction books with anyone willing to listen.

Stefani De Abreu 
Digital marketing coordinator

Stefani is the newest member of the team. As a marketer she enjoys creating content, setting goals, being creative, building good relationships with her colleagues and also being an eternal learner, for this reason, she is currently pursuing her Master degree in marketing communications. 

As a frequent traveller, Stefani is able to communicate in 3 different languages and enjoys sharing experiences with people from all over the world. When she has any spare time Stefani loves swimming or dancing the night away to Latin rhythms.


Jack Rogers
Digital Sales Manager

Jack Rogers is Digital Sales Manager for Essential Retail, and the go-to person for digital advertisement opportunities with us. 

Jack studied social psychology and is fascinated in the way that humans interact and behave. This helps him to have a deeper understanding of the buyers journey, and how people make decisions both in store and online. 

In his personal time he pretends he can still play football, but is better off watching in the pub. Jack has travelled extensively and enjoys trying different rums and whiskeys around the world.
