VM choice: Pinko drums up business in Milan

VM Choice: Pinko drums up sales with Milan VM

Italian young womenswear brand Pinko has only one London store and few department store concessions in the UK, but is very well known across Europe and Asia. This window in the Milan store for Fall/Winter neatly employs VM to drum up business, with transparent drums which mannequins both stand beside and stand on. Between them float wooden drumsticks, suspended from the ceiling using fine cord.

The clear sided drums neatly echo the circular glass base on which the mannequins stand.

The drums are also used to display accessories, as with the trainers here.

A close up of the drumsticks reveals the interesting choice of fine cord rather than fishing line. This makes the method of display rather deliberate, rather than apparently invisible. It’s a nice touch as the thickest fishing lines can look a little chunky, especially when the item being suspended is heavy.

With similar careful attention to detail, the mannequins are nicely styled, as here with a collar brooch.

Pinko has used simple props very well, a good example of simple VM for any corporate brand or independent store.
