Comment: Why Retail Design Expo is the place to be for innovation

In this ever-changing retail world, it is vital to ensure that you are providing todays savvy and expectant customers with an intuitive, inspiring and connected shopper experience if you are going to stay ahead of the game and remain relevant to your market. At Retail Design Expo, we have access to the latest thinking, innovation and what I'm sure will be great examples of both retail design and retail technology under one roof.

It is a great way to “connect the dots” and explore new ways to deliver ever more immersive and seamless multi-channel shopper experiences. London arguably remains at the forefront of design and at the forefront of multi-channel retailing and as long-standing experts in both those fields we simply had to be at Retail Design Expo 2015.

Shopworks has been established for 18 years and have provided research, retail design and shop fitting services in 42 countries for over 120 retailers from our network of offices in London, Lisbon, Melbourne, Moscow and Shanghai.

Having successfully grown primarily on the basis word of mouth recommendations from a prestigious customer base, including brands such as Audi, Swarovski, HSBC, AkzoNobel and Shell, we have more recently sought to present ourselves at the right retail design exhibitions across the globe. Having exhibited at Euroshop in Dusseldorf and Equipmag in Shanghai in 2014, being present at the inaugural Retail Design Expo 2015, the UK’s only exhibition dedicated to retail design was a must.  For Shopworks, this is a unique opportunity to share knowledge, seek inspiration and demonstrate our design credentials, grounded in years of shopper insight and understanding.

We will also take this opportunity to launch the Shopworks Shopability Index. The qualitative and quantitative research we’ve undertaken for retailers over the years not only looks at how and why people shop but also at what is and isn’t working throughout the entire customer journey in store.  Shopworks uses this benchmarking resource to compare and contrast existing and proposed store design concepts. Each part of the customer journey is analysed so that success can be measured and then adapted to create a more intuitive design.  We call it marrying our 'magic and logic'.

We’re really excited at the prospect of being part of Retail Design Expo, sharing ideas, seeking inspiration and connecting with our peers, customers and partners during the two days of the exhibition. Being at the heart of the Designer Pavilion amongst some of the world's best-known retail design brands is a fantastic opportunity to share experiences and a chance to demonstrate the power of the Shopworks offer.

We’ve followed with interest the regular updates published via Retail Design World over the past few months and it certainly feels like it’s going to be a packed and memorable couple of days.
