Ann Summers CEO to give keynote at Retail Business Exchange

Jacqueline Gold, CEO of Ann Summers and Knickerbox, has been confirmed as the opening keynote speaker for October's Retail Business Exchange.

The experienced retail exec will address delegates on the subject of leadership and will explore how businesses can identify and develop the retail leaders of the future, at the event which will take place between 6-7 October 2015.

Hosted at the luxury Warren Weir venue at Luton Hoo Hotel, the conference will also see Sir Geoff Mulcahy, the former CEO of DIY retail group Kingfisher, provide the closing keynote speech. Other speakers are set to be announced soon.

Retail Business Exchange is the latest event from Essential Retail and RBTE parent company, Legend Exhibitions, and it is set to give exclusively invited retailers a chance to network and participate in a high level education programme featuring retail CEOs from some of the UK's largest retailers.

There will also be practical sessions led by a line-up of notable retailers, as well as business matching meetings with carefully selected solution providers. Legend is also promising great entertainment and hospitality, in a luxury setting.

Stephen Robertson, non-executive director of Legend and formerly chairman of the British Retail Consortium, commented: "Retail Business Exchange is a powerful addition to the list of events that Legend Exhibitions delivers for the retail sector.

"It will enable dynamic retailers to engage and learn from their peers and the impressive speaker programme. With spaces limited to 100 delegates, and a luxury hideaway venue, this all adds up to a must-attend forum for the key operators in this fantastically vibrant industry. It is an extraordinary opportunity to rub shoulders with the retail leaders whose thinking we can all benefit from. Put simply for retail managers just below board level, this is the golden opportunity to understand what it takes to lead. Grasp it!"

All delegates will have their own tailored itinerary designed to ensure maximum efficiency of time and investment, which will include one-to-one meetings with vendors of their choice.

John Bednall, CEO of Legend, which also runs Retail Design Expo and its accompanying online magazine Retail Design World, said that Retail Business Exchange will allow attendees to network and learn "in a calm environment away from everyday distractions".

"Our bespoke appointment system has been specifically programmed for this forum to ensure maximum efficiency of time and investment for all attendees," he added.

"As a credible and respected company with a proven track record in the retail industry, the largest retail database and extensive connections (we only operate in retail), the conference programme will be stunning – the most inspirational, intelligent, relevant and prestigious – the best by far!"
