Carphone Warehouse and Samsung in new innovative store tie-up

Carphone Warehouse and Samsung are promising an "exciting new customer experience" through new Samsung standalone stores that merge innovative retail and technology solutions and systems.

Following the successful opening in 2013 of three standalone stores in Spain, it was announced today that the mobile phone retailer will be the "preferred partner" and operate the majority of 60 'Samsung' stores across Europe.

Part of the in-store experience will see staff use Carphone Warehouse's assisted sales tool and connectivity platform, in association with Samsung-branded tablets.

The new stores will be opened over the next three months, in a total of European markets: the UK, Ireland, Germany, Spain, Portugal, Sweden and the Netherlands. Each store "will have a premium look and feel" and will stock Samsung mobiles, tablets, laptops and wearable devices.

Not only does the relationship have the potential to be expanded in the future, but with the companies viewing the deal as "a powerful new retail concept", it could form a template for similar deals with other vendors further down the line.

Andrew Harrison, Carphone Warehouse CEO, commented, said: "We are delighted to have been chosen as Samsung's preferred European partner for their store roll-out.

"Our Connected World Services business will combine Carphone Warehouse's retailing expertise and systems with one of the world's biggest brands and will help us make even more lives better through connected technology."
