Hotel Chocolat on a new online journey

In a year that has seen Hotel Chocolat announce plans to open new restaurants in London and Leeds, as well as inside John Lewis stores, the company has also put significant focus on its digital offering.

Working with Red Technology, the chocolatier has developed an eCommerce platform that brings all of its individual brands together – be it shops, restaurants or cafes – under one domain into what the technology vendor describes as a "new digital flagship".

Using Red Technology's tradeit CMS and eCommerce platform, Hotel Chocolat customers can split orders into as many different deliveries as they have items, schedule delivery of them around the world – including Shutl’s 90-minute express fulfilment within 20 miles of their nearest store – or check stock and use the click & collect service to pick up orders at any UK store.

Among the plethora of other multichannel features on the new website, which went live in February this year, is a tool to handle the varying tax rates between different countries, which can aid Hotel Chocolat as it looks to expand into new territories.

Matthew Keys, digital marketing manager at Hotel Chocolat, said: "Red's thorough approach, project management skills and technical expertise, along with their understanding and appreciation of our brand requirements ensured that they delivered a website that we're extremely proud of.

"The current iteration of our new website represents just the start of a very exciting phase for the Hotel Chocolat brand online, and a journey that Red will certainly be joining us on.
