Moss Bros's omnichannel director Neil Sansom has left the suits and shirts retailer to take the helm at online and mail order business Wool Overs.

Having previously held digital roles at MandM Direct, Otto UK and Shop Direct, before playing a lead role in shaping Moss Bros's eCommerce agenda over the last three years, Sansom has been charged with expanding the UK-based business and growing profit at home and abroad.

The role comes two months after private equity firm Langholm Capital acquired a majority stake in Wool Overs, which was founded by Mark and Clare Shenton in 1989 and has turnover of circa £25 million. Over time, the retailer has developed from selling knitwear at country shows to become an international digital operation with a presence in countries such as the US, Australia, France and Germany.

"I am pleased to be joining Wool Overs as CEO and look forward to developing and growing the brand using my industry experience," explained Sansom.

"Wool Overs is a great British brand founded by Mark and Clare Shenton over 25 years ago and is now set for an exciting future as its next stage of development begins."

It was only this summer that Sansom took on the omnichannel director role at Moss Bros, with former MyWardrobe eCommerce boss, Matt Henton, replacing him as head of eCommerce.

Essential Retail understands Moss Bros is now on the search for a suitable candidate to fill the vacancy left by Sansom's departure.
