London is to play host to a start-up incubator which will develop innovative solutions in retail technology, including eCommerce, mobile payments, point of sale and stock management.

The Drugstore Retail Lab is the latest specialist start-up programme to be launched by Publicis Worldwide and The Trampery – a shared workspace and social enterprise in the heart of East London's 'Tech City'. The programme will aim to connect start-ups with large corporations to help them find new customers, strategic partnerships and investment.

Start-ups will be based at The Trampery's workspace in Old Street [take a virtual tour here] and will be able to apply for investment from the €10 million Publicis 90 fund.

Dylan Williams, global chief strategy officer of Publicis Worldwide, said "Publicis is working with corporations in every sector around the world who are hungry for new ideas in retail. The Drugstore Retail Lab will give the brightest retail start-ups access to top quality customers, strategic partners and investors."

Charles Armstrong, founder of The Trampery, added: "Buying and selling is the foundation of the market economy. Right now we’re in the middle of the greatest disruption since the invention of money. Applications will be open until  11am on Wednesday 24 February and a briefing event for interested start-ups will be held at The Trampery Old Street at 5pm on Tuesday 16 February (RSVP here).
