A number of eCommerce companies have been announced as companies about to embark on Tech City UK's new Upscale programme.

Bloom & Wild and Pact Coffee join four other eCommerce companies which make up 30 businesses joining Tech City UK's Upscale scheme. Other eCommerce companies include Snap Fashion, Thread, Depop and Metail – a company which allows online shoppers to virtually try on clothes in order to reduce returns.

All 30 Upscale companies have been chosen as data-driven companies which are innovating in their sectors, which include eCommerce, Fintech, Edtech, Healthtech and more.

The budding start-ups have been selected due to their potential for scale and international growth. As part of the programme they will receive advice from coaches with a proven track record of growing successful tech companies across the world. These 'scale coaches' include Skype founder Niklas Zennström, Techstars co-founder Brad Feld, and Unruly co-founder Sarah Wood.

Gerard Grech, CEO of Tech City UK, said: "Upscale from Tech City UK is a grassroots initiative to coach the next generation of UK-based entrepreneurs. Upscale has been built from the ground up, using direct feedback from company founders, investors and ecosystem partners. I’d like to welcome everyone aboard and thank all of our advisors and friends who helped this take off."

Unruly's Wood, added: "Our tech start-up ecoystem is stronger than ever; scaling UK start-ups further and faster is now the most pressing challenge for UK PLC if we want to harness the business opportunities brought about by the digital revolution. Only by working together and sharing our expertise can we ensure that as many UK companies as possible go from start-up to scale-up and contribute to the future growth of the UK's digital economy."

Upscale's partners include Silicon Valley Bank and law firm Cooley LLP, who will support the entrepreneurs by offering bespoke financial and legal advice on launching in new markets and scaling their businesses.
