The retail community has reacted positively to the conference programme and speaker line-up planned for the inaugural International Retail Franchising Summit (IRFS), which is set to take place next month.

Run by Legend – the company behind RBTE and Essential Retail – the event has been designed to offer complete and practical solutions for furthering the development of all retailers' international franchising strategies, through interactive presentations, workshops and panel debates.

Heads of international at the likes of Mothercare, WH Smith, The White Company and Hamleys are scheduled to speak at the event, which will run at London's Olympia on 11 March.

The delegate list for the summit continues to take shape, with decision makers from some of the UK's fastest growing retailers confirming their attendance at the event. Senior executives from Tesco, Debenhams, Marks & Spencer, Hotel Chocolat and Poundland are among those who have signed up to attend IRFS, but there are still a limited number of spaces for those keen to hear about the challenges facing retailers as they look to expand their international horizons.

In addition, IRFS can now confirm interiors and display solutions provider CAPS Group as a sponsor. The business joins DHL, Microlights and Dentons as an official partner for the event.

Paul Wilson, operations director at CAPS Group, commented: "CAPS Group is very much looking forward to sponsoring the IRF Summit in March.

"It's an excellent opportunity for CAPS Group to present itself and its services directly to the influencers and decision makers within the international franchise arena. In 2015 CAPS Group will continue to work globally with brands and retailers, so we are grateful for the exposure and kudos this summit brings."

He added: "As experts in global retail interiors we are keen to strengthen as well as increase our valuable, successful partnership strategies with key clients."

IRFS runs alongside RBTE, which is Europe's largest retail technology solutions event and is expected to attract over 10,000 industry delegates between 10-11 March. Visitor numbers are set to be boosted by the first edition of Retail Design Expo, which will run adjacent to RBTE and has been launched to cater for the needs of the retail design community, such as marketers, visual merchandisers, shop fitter and those in charge of property management.

Sarah Pavlou, founder and managing director of Kyclo, a retail franchise and brand expansion solutions company, will host and chair IRFS. She told Essental Retail that the new event is an "ideal opportunity" for the industry to meet, network and address future challenges.

"With an outstanding line up of speakers from some of the biggest brands in global retail, more than 100 delegates joining us from the UK and overseas; we are immensely excited to welcome all those in the world of international retail franchising to London Olympia," Pavlou explained.

"Successful international business operations are the result of people, partnerships and relationships. Our event provides a unique opportunity to connect and engage with senior executives from various sectors within the retail Industry who collectively offer numerous years of experience, including the pitfalls and successes in expanding your business internationally.

"It is an ideal opportunity to work together as one industry, grow one another's networks and further the success of the retail industry on a global level."
