Boxpark pop-up shopping mall has announced it will be launching a new integrated point of sale (PoS) system and click & collect facility for its traders to use, ahead of the opening of Boxpark Croydon in September.

The new retail technology will be made available for retailers operating in the established Boxpark site in east London's Shoreditch, as well as the soon to be unveiled site next to East Croydon station in the south of the capital.

Vendors Nobly POS and iZettle are providing the new systems for taking payments, while Orderswift – which includes popular Soho eateries Bodean's and Ceviche on its list of customers – is the company behind the new click & collect facility.

Boxpark says it has always offered its traders technologically advanced systems, including PoS, tech maintenance, security and marketing services, but the upgrade is part of a move by the retail site to move its traders away from independent stands and on to permanent sites.

The existing multichannel service offered by the mall, which is called Boxpark Market Place, will be phased out from the middle of this month.

Boxpark director Roger Wade told Essential Retail"We believe in technology and we want Boxpark Shoreditch and Boxpark Croydon to be at the forefront of it.

"By providing an integrated PoS service, mobile payments and initiating a click & collect offering, we are providing our traders with technology fit for the 21st century. Outside of this we offer free Wi-Fi at Boxpark Shoreditch and are rolling out free Wi-Fi across Boxpark Croydon allowing us to connect with our customers."

He added: "We're initiating a convenient click & collect service that allows customers to order ahead of arriving at Boxpark, increasing the capacity of traders."
