Fashion designer and retailer Paul Smith has added software business Prima Solutions to its growing armoury of partners, as it looks to continue its international expansion.

The company, which is already operating in 71 countries, has selected Prima Solutions as a process partner – adding to a recently announced supply chain partnership with Manhattan Associates and a long-running infrastructure deal with Cegid.

Paul Smith generates an annual turnover of over £200 million, and like many British retailers it has made no secret of its ambition to grow outside of the UK and boost top-line growth in new territories.

The Prima Solutions collaboration will reportedly touch all areas of the business, with the retailer hoping it will deliver improvements in process efficiencies and create a single "on the button" view of customers, product, service, stock, financial and all other key performance data.

James Horsley, finance director of Paul Smith, said: "This is an exciting time for Paul Smith and we have been very clear about what we are looking for from a technology partner for the future.

"We were impressed with Prima from the outset. Their software is highly functional and widely proven and their people have demonstrated the great depth of knowledge gained from many years of working with other companies in our industry. We spoke to, or visited, more than half a dozen of their customers and the overwhelming message is one of true partnerships, with Prima consistently doing what they say they will do."
