European department store group El Corte Inglés has invested in its private-label sourcing by partnering with 3D design software and product lifecycle management solutions provider Dassault Systèmes.

The Spain-based retailer is using the vendor's 'My Collection for Fashion' industry solution to accelerate the time it takes to bring private-label fashion collections to market.

The technology is powered by Dassault's 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and it gives the retailer a single environment connecting internal and external stakeholders, as well as integrating the business's supply chain. The system pledges to mitigate the risk of incorrect samples, additional costs and production errors or delays.

El Corte Inglés has invested in the new system as it looks to standardise product development and sourcing processes across all of its private-label brands.

Susan Olivier, vice president, consumer goods & retail industry at Dassault Systèmes, said: "The consumer goods and retail industry is in the midst of a consumer-driven revolution.

"Consumers expect new products and new shopping experiences, and our industry solution experiences have been designed to meet these expectations through a combination of global team collaboration and information in a social context – with clarity, confidence and consistency."
