Barcode scanner manufacturer Scandit is new to RBTE, and it will be showcasing its range of products at the two-day event at London Olympia between 9-10 March 2016.

Essential Retail caught up with Samuel Müller, CEO at Scandit, to find out more about the company and its plans for the spring show.

Why have you booked for RBTE 2016?

We decided to attend RBTE 2016 because our products help leading retailers mobilise their business processes, streamline operations and lower TCO by leveraging smartphones, tablets and wearables to replace outdated and expensive barcode scanning hardware.

What new technology will you be displaying at RBTE 2016, and why is it relevant?

We’ll be demoing the Scandit Case, which when combined with our mobile apps and cloud services acts as an effective replacement option for traditional dedicated barcode scanning solutions. Much more than just a case, the new battery-less, sled-like ergonomic accessory builds on our existing set of offerings by making smartphones act and feel like traditional mobile scanners, at a fraction of the cost.

Name some of the retailers that you are currently working alongside?

Ahold, Coop, Migros, Saks Fifth Avenue, The Home Depot, Tokyu Hands and many more.

What's the best customer service you've experienced this year?

A customer service rep at Saks 5th Avenue was able to check if they had my size directly from the sales floor, using a clienteling app. Pretty cool!
