AO World has reported an increase in revenue of 35% from its ao.com online platform, while overall UK revenue increased 24%.

The e-tailer of domestic appliances shared a trading update for its three months to December 2015, during which is said it was pleased with its Black Friday performance, after drawing from lessons learnt the previous year.  

The e-tailer also said it is continuing to drive customer awareness as it develops its Audio Visual and Small Domestic Appliances categories in the UK.

Its German website has been up and running for over a year, and the e-tailer said the region's exit run rate revenue for December gives an annualised revenue of €77 million, up from €61 million in September. AO said its Netherlands launch remains on track for Spring 2016.

Steve Caunce, chief operating officer, said: "AO World continues to make progress on its long term plan; delivering sales growth across all categories and more customers enjoyed our excellent proposition.

"In Germany we made further progress and are proud of how our culture has translated and thank the German team for continuing to delight customers with the ao.de experience," he added. "Looking ahead, we remain confident that we will deliver for the benefit of both our customers and our investors and remain on track to deliver our long term strategy."
