Advances in information technology have enabled a new kind of computer – "learning machines" that can scan through vast stores of data in milliseconds and deliver resulting insights in a highly consumable form, for example, using natural language. Many in the technology world believe that such advances could lead to smarter and more relevant retailer-customer interactions, and faster and more natural analysis leading to customer and operational insights.
