Pep & Co has signed up for Clipper Logistics' warehousing and e-fulfilment services ahead of the opening of its first store in the summer.

The fashion retailer, led by ex-Asda CEO Andy Bond and former Bain & Co consultant Mark Elliott, is due to open its first shop in Kettering, Northamptonshire in July, and will use Clipper for returns management and various logistics functions.

In what is expected to be a fast roll-out of UK stores, Pep & Co aims to have 50 outlets up and running by the end of August, all of which will sell family fashion and homewares on the high street.

Mark Jackson, chief financial officer of Pep & Co, said: "We're delighted to bring Clipper into our Pep & Co team – they'll play a pivotal role in helping us deliver family fashion at amazing prices in our new high street stores."

The retailer is owned by Pepkor UK, which manages corporate activity in the UK in support of the wider Pepkor Group – a South Africa-based investment  company with retail interests in Africa, Australia and eastern Europe.
